Some Enchanted Evening

Some enchanted evening you may see a stranger You may see a stranger across a crowded room and somehow you know know even then, that you will see him again and again.  Some enchanted evening someone may be laughing.  You may hear him laughing across a crowded room and nigh after night, as strange as it seems, the sound of that laughter will sing in your dreams.  Who can explain it...who can tell you why?  Fools give you reasons...wisemen never try.  Some enchanted evening when you find your true love, when you feel him call you from across a crowded room...then fly to his side and make him your alone or you might spend the rest of you life dreaming alone.  Once you have found him...never let him go.  Once you have found him. Never let him go.

An Ordinary Couple

An ordinary all we'll ever be for all I want of living is to keep you close to me. To laugh and weep together as time goes on its flight.   To kiss you every morning and kiss you every night. We'll meet our daily problems and rest when day is done.  Our arms around each other in the fading sun.  An ordinary couple across the years we will ride.  Our arms around each other facing the perilous tide. Our arms around each other.

Somewhere there's a place for us.  A time and place for us. Peace and quiet and open air wait for us somewhere.  There's a time for us.  Someday a time for us.  Time together with time to spare.  Time to listen and time to care.    Somewhere we'll find a new  way of living.  We'll find a way of forgiving.  Somewhere.  There's a place for us.  A time and place for us.  Hold my hand and we're half way there.  Hold my hand and I'll take your there.  Somehow, Someday.  Somewhere.

Wishing you were somehow here again

You were once my one companion.  You were all that mattered.  You were once a friend and lover then my world was shattered.  Wishing you were somehow here again.  Wishing you were somehow near.  Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed somehow you would be here.  Wishing I could hear your voice again.  Knowing that I never would.  Dreaming of you won't help me to do all the things you thought I could.  Passing bells and sculptured angels cold and momumental since for you the wrong companions, you were warm and gentle. Too many years fighting back tears Why can't the past just die.  Wishing you were somehow here again Knowing we must say goodbye...Try to forgive Teach me to live Give me the strength to try. No more memories No more silent tears No more gazing across the wasted years: help me say goodbye.

The Man that Got Away

The night is bitter...the stars have lost their glitter.  The winds grow colder and suddenly you're three years older and all because of the man who got away.  No more his eager calls. The writings on the walls. The dreams you dreamed have all gone astray.  The man who won you has run off and undone you.  That great beginning has seen its final inning. Don't know what happened.  It's all a crazy game.  No more that all time thrill 'cause you've been through the mill and never a new love will be the same.  Good riddance goodbye. Every trick of his you're on to but fools will be fools and where's he gone to?  The road gets rougher. Gets lonlier and tougher...with hope you cling on tomorrow he may show up there's just no let up the live long night and day.  Ever since this world began, there is nothing sadder than the one man man looking for the man that got away.  The man that got away.
